I'm looking to buy my first car in the next few weeks and i've got my mind set on this one:

The book price is around £3.5K and I may be able to get it for £1.7K (y).
The bloke say that the damage was category C and a full right off. He's a bit sketchy on the details, as the car was bought as seen! Although he has said that all was needed were some new pannels.
I've had a good long talk with my Dad about it and i'm nearly at the conclusion of taking a little risk and buying it.
The deal would be cash on collection and I could always just go to the bank and not come back ;) if it does turn out to be (bollocks).
So what's the verdict?
