It’s been a long time since I had a non Spw jacket in my closet, but was blown away with the quality of the Arc’teryx Veilance HS01. Click below to see more.
Shown in Orange Oxide
The Arc’teryx Veilance and SI Shadow range share the same minimal design aesthetics, but when it comes to quality, the Veilance range blows away the Shadow range. I picked up the Hs01 field jacket and the thing that kept amazing me, were the flawless seams. The one thing to note is that sizing on the Veilance is a bit larger than on the shadow range. I picked up my usual size M, but could have easily sized down to a S in this piece.

About the Collection:
ARC’TERYX VEILANCE WINTER 2010
Dedicated to progression, Arc’teryx Veilance’s winter 2010 collection continues to expand and elevate the project’s vision. Perfecting protection that doesn’t compromise movement or a flawless fit, Veilance is the product of obsession—rethinking apparel and crafting it for the urban mobility required during a day-to-day existence.
A compact bomber jacket, reinforced shell creations and a duffle coat design are just part of the new range. From hardwearing triple-layered tailored innovation to the practically weightless—incorporating wind, water and stain protection—the true scope of Veilance’s intent becomes clear.
A Schoeller® WB400 nylon/wool blend on the Patrol Hooded Jacket offers a definitive fabric mix, and laminated PrimaLoft® insulation in the Insulated Shell Jacket eliminates cold spots effectively. GORE-TEX® 3L Soft-shell, Polartec® Hardface®, WaterTight™ zippers, StowHood™ and the debut of TechnoWool™ laminate hone the outerwear offerings, while traditional moleskin and superfine natural materials form perfect base layers.
This season’s Veilance designs use architectonic geometry as inspiration. Stripping away the superfluous but allowing versatility, this is evolutionary apparel. Expansion, experiment and a focus on subtlety means staple items redefined—these are garments pushed beyond their characteristic capabilities and built to perform in cooler conditions without excess.
FIELD JACKET
Made from GORE-TEX® 3L Pro Shell and built on the classic field jacket platform, this amalgamation of traditional design with modern materials and construction techniques offers storage solutions via multiple pockets. From the external drop pockets with WaterTight™ pocket flaps, external chest drop pockets and a laminated internal zippered stretch document pocket with a hidden security pocket to the laminated internal zippered stretch wallet pocket, it’s a total rethink of a militaristic silhouette. The tall collar with StowHood™ provides optional protection that doesn’t compromise visibility or movement, and the Arc’teryx Veilance Field Jacket is available in a choice of Coal or Orange Oxide colors for the winter.

This reminds me of Victorinox a bit but I should need to see it in the flesh …
I’m not a fan. Its a very good color.
Would have too see this brand in the flesh before I made my mind up 100%.
And at £900 even I wouldn’t spend that on a coat.
This caught my eye a while ago. But the price tag is way to hefty for me + no shops near me stock it.
Tried it instore, lovely collection but i haven’t seen new designs over the past seasons. Price tag is similar to S.I. and C.P. Would recommend it to anyone but personally like Acronym even better.
I own some Acronym pieces and love them. In my opinion they are even better in terms of innovative design and materials.
