The ‘88 race mille is a jacket that I have long been looking to add to my collection, and the recent addition of this one to my collection was made all the more special when I learned the history of this particular jacket and its previous owner. Click below to read more.

About Franco Bruccoleri and the ‘88 Mille
This piece was originally owned by Italian fashion titan, Franco Bruccoleri, who turns out to have been a close friend of Massimo Osti, and was the original distributor of CP and SI in Germany. Franco later started Onstage2000, was the one who introduced Armani, Versace, Benetton, Ferre and many more to the German market, produced Helmut Lang’s first collection, and was later was known for trying to revive the Italian fashion house Cappuci. Amazingly this mille was worn by Franco during the ‘88 1000 Miglia when he drove a Mercedes 300 SL (the classic gullwing Mercedes).
I want to give special thanks to Federica for sharing the amazing stories about her uncle, who recently passed on, and allowing me to add this special piece to my collection.

it just makes what is already a very desirable jacket even more so, subtle stark lettering that really catches the eye, you cannot compere the flannels reflective with this but if i had to choose between the two….? an 88 race mille any day of the week, ta!!
