DIY: How To Add Your Own Watchviewer
Been on the fence about modifying my SPW garments. But I figure if it looks good, why not… So finally took the plunge and had a watchviewer put on. Click below to see the step by step instructions.
Original Design 03: M1951 Parka
The M1951 Parka was developed as a flexible extreme cold weather solution for US Soldiers during the Korean war. More commonly know as the “Fishtail Parka”, it has been the inspiration for many Stone Island parka designs including the white label fur trimmed version to this season antique reflective. The iconic fishtail and diagonal pocket design make M1951 both an icon of fashion and military design, even 50 years after its creation. Click below to learn more about the M1951 Parka.
C.P. Company SS ‘07 Leather Watchviewer Mille
I’m always interested in checking out what FGF is doing with their milles. Especially since they really have a such a different design sensibility than the SPW ones. There has been some discussion before about this model, so here’s a closer look and some first hand impressions .
Belstaff Dalesman Jacket
Never really been a fan of Belstaff…but browsing through this month’s Free & Easy and came across this picture of the Belstaff Dalesman. Quite like that it has the circular logo and extra two hip pockets.
1940’s US Navy Pullover Jackets
WWII Naval fashion unfortunately gets a bad wrap. The image of sailors with bib shirts and dinky hats usually comes to mind. But like the army the navy had some really interesting designs. One of my favorite type of jackets from this period are the USN Navy pullovers. Click below to see more images.
C.P. Donna Korea S/S ‘08
The more I see of the Korean C.P. Donna line, the more I want to see CP return to a time when it wasn’t afraid to take risks with the men’s line. Many of the jacket designs while for women, are far more original and interesting than the men’s collection which basically is just a rehashed Jil Sander’s collection. Stone Island Korea S/S ‘08 Collection

If you like things that crinkle and bright colors, S/S ‘08 is the season for you. FGF has updated the C.P. Company Korea site with the new season. Click below to see the Stone Island Korea S’S ‘08 colllection.

Original Design 02: M-1943 Field Jacket
When most people think field jacket, the M-65 usually is the first that comes to mind, but the modern day field jacket like the Stone Island A349 owes its design inspiration to the WWII M-1943 field jacket. A design so successful that military forces around the world still wear field jackets remarkably similar to it. Click below for the history of the M-1943.
Original Design 01: M-41 Field Jacket
Ever wonder where the design comes from? The AW ‘05 Stone Island 4A21 gets the honor of being the first of the “Original Design” features. The 4A21 is based off the design of the WWII M-1941 field jacket, believe it or not this design is over sixty years old and was one of the most widely worn jackets by US soldiers during WWII. C.P. Company Summer Metropolis
Finally, my first summer UP piece. While the winter dynafil version is by far more iconic of the two, I quite like the look of the metro in the rubberized cotton. It definitely has a more modern feel and I can’t get enough of the black mask against the grey combo. Almost tempted to wear the mask out with this one. Click below to see full pics.
