C.P. Company’s new fabric H.P.C. has a lot of people wondering it is really any different from Stone Island’s Ventile cotton. Read below for a side by side compare.

Summary:
The main difference between the two fabrics is the weight. H.P.C. has a light weight cotton feel similar to the weight of a dress shirt, while ventile is a thicker cotton closer to a chambray cotton usually found on oxford shirts. The ventile weight makes it better suited for a winter garment, but the thin H.P.C. is so light weight the inner tape makes some parts of the garment feel to stiff in comparison with the rest of the garment.

As you can see, the H.P.C. is a much tighter weave.

Inside the two fabrics are similar. Both have the tape on the seams to make them water proof.

A close up of the back of the fabrics reveals the main differences. The H.P.C. has an interesting feel to the surface and the ventile has the look of a woven fabric.
